Eddie Howe
1 win in 9 and Bournemouth booed off after losing at home to Burnley.
Reminds me a bit of the situation at Charlton where they got bored of Curbishley finishing in the top half.
Howe needs a change and a challenge if he is going to progress.
A situation we should monitor next season if Pellegrini underwhelms.

Sorry Cornish, just to be clear, I want him to be the manager of West Ham United.

I have no personal feelings towards Eddie Howe, yet.

Re: Eddie Howe
Pub you can have him as long as he is nowhere near West Ham.

I imagine while AFCB have got King and Wilson (23 goals between them) then they'll do the same as they normally do...

I'd have Howe all day long, but I have been banging that drum for several years.

Re: Eddie Howe
It seems to be a rotating door for the sides battling for 7th - 12th; each season a different side getting 7th then that side, the following season, struggling. Howe is in a good position, as others have said, when Bournemouth eventually get relegated (money on next season, taps nose); any right minded Bournemouth fan can see that eventually their time in the Premiership will be up.

Agree- and why would he? He's a hero there and under virtually no pressure. Even if they went down he wouldn't be sacked.

If he moved to another club his career and reputation could be fucked within six months.

Re: Eddie Howe
Think the thunderbird 3 puppet would ave his work cut out at a bigger club, where the foreign players outnumber the British ones.
He’s too nice and polite to keep hold of the changing room I reckon.

Oh, and We’re not just any general bunch of supporters, we’re............

(Mind you, M&S are giving up atm n all.!)

Pity it weren’t G&S. (and the lying slag).

We talking about US or Bournemouth Russ son??

Re: Eddie Howe
TBF to Howe he does have his hands tied a little at Bournemouth. He has a very thin squad and some still hanging on from their league 1 days. I know he was given cash to get out of league one and then helped in the Championship (so have others been by the way and they've failed time and time again).

The problem Bournemouth have is that they will always be a small club (lovely part of the country but still a small club). Attracting top end players is going to prove difficult, they've all got egos the size of planets and want to be adored by more than 10500 each week.

He is a good manager and whilst I am more than happy with MP he could be one for the future (still) and he'd commute to London.

Arguably.

But I would suggest politely that, for a club like AFC Bournemouth who have now been in the PL for a long time, just staying in the league is less than what their board and supporters now want.

I may be wrong. But I am sure of you asked a general bunch of supporters they would be expecting more than PL survival.

Re: Eddie Howe
Bit of perspective needed. It's AFC BOURNEMOUTH we're talking about here. 12k fans. Every season they stay in the premier league is a huge overachievement

It's pointless. I am surprised G&S haven't been blamed for Brexit.

Re: Eddie Howe
Even after all these years Howe rides the wave of potential.

Every season he shows the Bournemouth fans and everyone else what he is capable of by massively over-achieving for a while and then they start to drift. It happens most seasons. But he always does enough before-hand to survive the annual nosedive.

If I was an owner looking at Howe that would worry me. Is it something that he does that causes it? Why can he never keep momentum going? Or is it just a coincidence and bad luck?

He seems a decent enough bloke. But he is beginning to start to slip into that mode that is English manager that will never get a top job as he isn't quite good enough. And for that reason I agree with others here that I think he would be a slightly unambitious appointment.

Can we stop saying the team was shit
No real difference in those two lineups.

One got lucky with AFC having a player sent off.

Our start let us down, as it has many times.

That has a lot to do with the Manager motivating the players. And of course having Obiang in the team who's lack of desire is so evident all season.
There are too many who should not be here.

How come Leicester players seem to have the desire.

Lots of injuries this season but I've lost a lot of patient with Pellegrini. He has no excuses for next year's start.

Eddie “I’m such a smug cunt” Howie. Will be Tottenhams next manager. As for us. The pattern will stay the same while the SPIVS call the shot’s.

£8m a year and fuck all responsibility for anything!

Re: Eddie Howe
I think we all know by now that not all the signings made last summer were down to Pell

Pretty sure that my instinct points to at least 3 or 4 that had already been lined up long before he gave them his word.

Pagey 1:55 Tue Apr 9
Re: Eddie Howe
I don’t really understand that logic.

What do you actually wat the owners to do? I’m certainly not defending them but they brought in a decent manager and gave him a lot of money to spend. But you seem to be making excuses for Pellegrini?

Maybe a bit of patience is needed? It seems like everything needs to be instant these days.

Our biggest fuck up this season was playing an under strength team in the FA Cup. That was down to Pellegrini. The players need to take responsibility too and start earning their money.

The owners backed the manager this season and I’d say he’s probably under achieved so far.
